What kind of programs does the Glenknoll PTA fund?
Field Trips and Special Events: The PTA provides funding for each class to be applied to the cost of field trips and special events planned by each grade level. The PTA donates $10.00 per student for a total of approximately $4,600 per year.
Instructional
Supplies: The PTA has purchased
personal planners for the upper grade levels and has donated $150.00 per
classroom for teachers to purchase materials for this year. Total amount $3,000.
Library: Recent state budgets have drastically cut
funding for our school libraries. The
PTA funds the library to supplement the purchase of additional books. Total amount is approximately $4,500.
Website: The PTA financed the creation and ongoing
maintenance of the Glenknoll website (www.glenknoll.org). Cost is
$3,000.
Other Programs: The PTA also funds the Reading Program, Principal’s lunch, Red Ribbon Week, Reflections, Book Fair, Meet the Masters, Year Book, and Career Day.
Gifts to Supplement Learning: The 2011/12 PTA helped fund the Accelerated Reader Program and donated money to update computers in our school.
